The hazards of smoking cigarettes

It’s been proven that cigarette smoking is hazardous to health. How hazardous it can be, only time will uncover. So, here I have listed a timeline about what happens when you smoke a cigarette. This timeline will help you to know how much damage a cigarette does to you and if all things go ok, you might even leave smoking.

    1. When you smoke, chances are that the smoke will travel into your body. If it does (it will for sure!) the lungs will absorb the smoke and send dangerous chemicals to different parts of the body.
    2. Nicotine enters your body first. It takes not more than six seconds for the nicotine to reach to your brain and it takes not more than ten seconds for nicotine to reach all the parts of your body.
    3. Carbon Monoxide travels into your blood and does not allow your blood cells to carry much oxygen to the heart.
    4. Genes get damaged in your body which leads to cancer or any other disorder. Worst is that there will be unusual growth in your body or the reproduction will be more than normal rate.
    5. Your throat starts getting damaged because of the chemicals emitted by the smoke of the cigarettes. It begins to construct the airways of the smoker.
    6. Smoke can damage the DNA structure of the human body which can lead to body malfunctions and disorders.
    7. Smokers have less of the antitoxins which help repair the damaged cells of the body. The smoker’s body cannot create these antitoxins since they stop the antitoxins production by smoking.
    8. In men, smoking can cause infertility. Long term smoking makes men fertile and impotent. The smoke regularly entering the eye can blind the human eye.
    9. Smoking leads to lack of sense of smell since the smoke enters the nasal canal and affects the nose.
    10. Smoking can cause cancer in almost any part of the body it comes in contact with. Lips, mouth, tongue, lung, throat, almost any part coming in contact.

Now that you know that smoking is hazardous to your health, it will be wise to leave smoking. At least try to stay away from cigarettes, since they are very dangerous. There are many programs to help you out. Find one in your local area. It will be nice if you get enrolled into one to leave the destructive habit.
